HEIMSUCHE – 09-11/08/2019
The exhibition Heimsuche shows a selection of photographs, that Sirarpi Asatryan captured during her travels through her homeland Armenia. The german word Heimsuche describes the return to a land, that one left many years ago and to rediscover and to fine oneself again. Heimsuche can also be understood as being haunted – it implies the impulsive, something driving that also caught up with Sirarpi during her travels.
Rising tuff mountains, behind them the oldest churches in Europe. Streamlines and clotheslines stringing together Yerevan’s cityscapes. Framed portraits lokking at us from the past.
The selection of impressive works (2014-2019) by Sirarpi Asatryan proved a personal insight into a country previously unknow to many.
